My Amazon reader arrived today.

I had a large Amazon gift certificate, too, as thanks for giving some GRE math help. So I want shopping for my new device. Today I have downloaded:
The Hogfather, Terry Pratchett

Moby Dick, Hermann Melville (I coulda got a free text version, but I got the dollar version instead)

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, William Shakespeare (again, for one dollar--this version comes with an auto table of contents, which makes it much, much easier to navigate than downloading a long text file)

The Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls, Lois McMaster Bujold (the second book in the series won both the Hugo and Nebula, and I've been meaning to read them)

Perdido Street Station, China Mieville (which I intended to pay for--but this is absolutely free to download through Amazon right now)

Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, Cory Doctorow (free text file--been meaning to read this one for a while)

The Dispossessed, Ursula K Le Guin (winner of both the Hugo and Nebula)

The Fountains of Paradise, Arthur C Clarke (another duel winner)

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, Susanna Clarke (won one, nominated for the other)

Fragile Things, Neil Gaiman (haven't read Gaiman in a while--wanted to read the Susan story y'all were talking 'bout)

Infinite Jest, David Foster Wallace (when I realized from reading The Hogfather how easily the reader handles footnotes/endnotes, I decided to get this one--never got through it at home)
That'll be a decent start, I think.

I've been reading The Hogfather first. I'm loving the device. It works amazingly well, and I love the fact that I'm carrying every single one of those books with me wherever I take it, with room to carry thousands, literally thousands, more.
